Nalpak’s Tuffpak Works!

I guess it shows what kind of sense of humor I have, that I really enjoy writing articles in the ‘Things That Don’t Suck’ series for TheTruthAboutGuns. My latest is on Nalpak’s Tuffpak firearm carrier. Frances and I were once again at the Government Training Institute‘s shooting range. We used the Tuffpak to transport three rifles and a PDW pistol. Its capacity bodes well for when we use it this November to carry three rifles for our Mozambique Safari with Mark Haldane’s Zambeze Delta Safaris! You can check out the review here.

Nalpak’s Tuffpak – Roadtrip Test!

A bit of the article that will appear in TheTruthAboutGuns.com in the ‘Things That Don’t Suck’ category. The video was recorded at the Government Training Institute‘s facility.

“As usual, I was anxiously waiting for my SKB double-rifle guncase to appear after my flight from Johannesburg into Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport. I breathed a sigh of relief as the agent brought it into the check-in room on the other side of the glass partition.

“If my brother had not grabbed my arm, I would have been pounding on the glass a few seconds later. Instead of placing the guncase onto the empty spaces on the shelf, or setting it down on the floor, she raised it up to chest height and dropped the case onto the concrete. I guess she was making it crystal clear that she was anti-hunting…

“That episode made me start wondering if there was another option available that might act to camouflage my firearms a bit better than my beloved SKB carrier…”

Dateline Black Creek Georgia: Daniel Defense Factory Tour

Here’s a snippet from my article on my tour at the Daniel Defense manufacturing facility:

“I was introduced to Joe Marler (Law Enforcement Sales Manager at Daniel Defense), the host for my visit to the Daniel Defense manufacturing facility, when we both participated in the Government Training Institute Legion‘s ‘Precision Rifle With Elevated Shooting Course‘.”

During the course, Joe and I were paired as we shot from a railing. I could hear him muttering about how my .300 Winchester Magnum was vibrating him off his rest. I told him that he too should be shooting a real-man’s caliber. I guess that is when he found out I was a smart aleck. Even so, Joe seemed pleased to act as my guide for a tour of the Daniel Defense facility near Savannah, Georgia.”

Check out the Video interview with Joe that accompanies my article submitted to TheTruthAboutGuns.com. Particularly listen close to the final quip from Joe…

Electronic Shooters Protection, STEALTH Ear Plugs…They Work!

STEALTH on Skin

In January, at the Dallas Safari Club Convention, Frances and I had the opportunity to interview Jack Homa of Electronic Shooters Protection. ESP’s electronic ear plugs are at the top of the market. Recently, Jack sent me a pair of their STEALTH ear plugs. About a week ago, I used these when reviewing a Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW. I will be writing a full review for the STEALTHs after I use them for several more firearm reviews and an upcoming hunt for quail. As a part of the full review, we put together this short video describing the use, and utility, of these fantastic ear plugs!

Daniel Defense Firearms…Again!

Well, the good folks at Daniel Defense have trusted me with some more of their cool products! At the top is their DDM4 PDW pistol in caliber 300 Blackout and at the bottom is their DD5 V4 rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor.

The pistol will be tearing up berms at my gunclub, while the rifle is set to head to the GTI Legion facilities where it will be fired at targets out to 800+ yards.

Can you say “Yeah Baby!!”

Stay tuned for the reviews of both firearms in TheTruthAboutGuns.com.
